Quando Noel Gallagher scrisse âDonât look back in angerâ era sotto effetto di droghe. E fu lui stesso ad ammetterlo. In pieno stile Oasis. Quella âLook back in angerâ, che produsse lâespressione âgiovani arrabbiatiâ. Affrontando tutto a muso duro. E soprattutto senza rabbia. âSo I must start revolution from my bed, âcause you said the brains I had went to my headâ. AboutâDonât Look Back in Angerâ was released as the fourth single off of Whatâs The Story Morning Glory?, February 19th 1996. In 2006, it was included in the âBest Ofâ-compilation Stop The Clocks and in 2010 it was included in the singles collection Time Flies⌠1994-2009. Noel Gallagher also admits that he was under the influence of illegal substances when he wrote the song and to this day he claims he does not know what the lyrics mean. In late May 2017, the song became a symbol for the Manchesterâs spirit and resistance following the terrorist attacks during an Ariana Grande concert, when a crowd of Mancunians started singing it, at the end of a minute of silence to honour the victims of the us a question about this songWhat have the artists said about the song?Noel on the songâs creation I went up to The Manor when Paul Weller was recording Stanley Road and thatâs when I did my bit on Walking On Guilded Splinters. He played me his song, Wings Of Speed, and that was the feel I tried to get on Donât Look Back In Anger. I did it live for the first time at Sheffield Arena. Should people put their lives in the hands of a rock nâ roll band? If itâs us then, yeah, I think they can. Noel on the songâs meaning Itâs about not being upset about the things you might have said or done yesterday, which is quite appropriate at the moment. Itâs about looking forward rather than looking back. I hate people who look back on the past or talk about what might have been. Noel has described it as âa cross between âAll the Young Dudesâ and [something] The Beatles might have done.âWho is Sally?Noel âI donât actually know anybody called Sally. Itâs just a word that fit, y'know, might as well throw a girlâs name in there. Itâs gotta guarantee somebody a shag off a bird called Sally, hasnât it?âWhat was the writing process like?Noel told Uncut in 2007 that he was trying to come up with lyrics for the music heâd written when Liam asked him if he had just sung âSo Sally can wait.â He hadnât, but loved the line and it inspired him to finish the song. Noel also acknowledges that lines from the song â most noticeably âgonna start a revolution from my bedâ â were taken from a cassette tape containing John Lennonâs have I heard that piano intro before? How did Noel defend his borrowing of elements from Beatles songs? What does the title mean? What is the meaning of the cover art? What was the tracklist of the CD single release?4.
